Landing programs
Five priority programs
These are planned landing sites and operating models, not a claim that all five are already at national scale.
Samut Sakhon shrimp-pond edge AI
Location. Samut Sakhon Province · Species: Pacific white shrimp
Samut Sakhon is Thailand’s core shrimp province. Monsoon rain, salinity swings, and algal crashes raise the chance of AHPND, EMS, and WSSV. This program deploys multi-parameter water sensors and edge compute at the pond so all raw farm data stays on site. Models fuse THEOS-2 satellite and near-shore buoy climate feeds for a 72-hour outlook on storms, salinity shocks, and water-quality collapse, then estimate outbreak probability, push mobile alerts, and can drive pond equipment. A digital demonstration farm is used to support GAP evidence for export.
Intent. Set a climate-adaptive, risk-first, data-driven standard for Thai shrimp, moving core districts from experience-led farming to measured operations without presenting coverage figures as already achieved.
Partnership fit. Public–private pilot + company-run demonstration + farm enablement
Role in the map. National pilot template, provincial standard site, and regional enablement hub (plan).
Chachoengsao sea-bass cage AI
Location. Chachoengsao Province · Gulf of Thailand nearshore · Species: Asian sea bass (barramundi) and premium marine finfish
Gulf cages sit in monsoon, storm-surge, and wave risk, and radio links are unstable. This program is built offline-first: cage terminals can infer and control without a wide-area network. Underwater vision scores swimming, surface health, and feeding activity so feeding policy can cut waste and FCR. Marine weather and wave models support decisions on cage hardening, early harvest, and storm avoidance.
Intent. Build an intelligent safety stack for Thai premium marine farming, and a reference for Southeast Asian smart cage culture.
Partnership fit. Company-run demonstration first, with government technical co-build
Role in the map. Premium marine AI reference and nearshore safety standard site (plan).
Surat Thani cooperative federated cluster
Location. Surat Thani Province · Species: Freshwater shrimp, tilapia, and brackish mixed culture
Southern smallholders are scattered and each site has too little data to train a strong model. The cooperative hosts a regional edge cluster. Water, feed, and production records stay encrypted locally; only desensitized model parameters are aggregated. Farmers can use improved local models at low cost under Thailand’s PDPA, without uploading recipes or cost sheets.
Intent. A shared, privacy-preserving digital base for smallholders that can be copied across Southeast Asia.
Partnership fit. Farm and cooperative enablement first, with a public data-security pilot
Role in the map. Smallholder AI ecology site and national data-security trial zone (plan).
National GAP/ASC digital certification
Location. Core aquaculture provinces nationwide · Species: Export shrimp and crab
Thai seafood is a national export pillar, but EU and North American buyers demand tight evidence. Paper logs are slow and hard to trace. This program auto-collects water, feeding, disease control, and medicine records into DoF-aligned logs, scores them against GAP and ASC rules, flags gaps, and can connect to official digital-farm workflows for online checks.
Intent. A national digital compliance layer for export seafood, not a claim that certification is already universal.
Partnership fit. Nationwide public–private platform co-build
Role in the map. National export-compliance digital base (plan).
Chiang Mai inland freshwater AI
Location. Chiang Mai Province · northern inland farms · Species: Tilapia, hybrid catfish, and inland food fish
Northern smallholders have tight hardware budgets. This program uses economical sensors and light edge models on high-frequency freshwater risks such as night dissolved-oxygen collapse, then can drive pond equipment. Farms may join the national federated network with parameter-only uploads. Public subsidy programs, where they exist, are treated as a cost reducer, not as a guaranteed nationwide rollout.
Intent. Close the north–south digital gap with a kit smallholders can actually run.
Partnership fit. Broad farm enablement
Role in the map. Rural freshwater digital-inclusion program (plan).
